Q. How much does it cost to make a posting?
A.

The SEAGO halibut buy/sell exchange is free. There is no charge to list your permit for sale or to respond to someone else’s listing.

   
Q. How do I post my permit for sale?
A. See the “Tips – How do I post” option on the left hand navigation list.  It walks you through step by step.
   
Q. Do you act as a broker to complete a deal between a buyer and seller?
A. No. You will need to make your own private arrangements.
   
Q. How do I know that a permit that I want to buy is transferrable?
A. We urge you to complete a thorough due-diligence before giving anyone any money. When in doubt contact NMFS to make sure the permit you want to purchase is legitimate.
Q. Can I offer my boat for sale along with my permit?
A. Yes but we ask you to keep items for sale within reason and applicable to permits.
   
Q. How do I remove a posting?
A. Just post a comment on your specific posting that you would like this posting deleted and our administrators will remove it.
   
Q. What do I do if my posting sold?
A. Please post a comment on your posting indicating that it has been sold.
   
Q. Can I buy more than one permit?
A. There are limitations on the numbers of permits that anyone can purchase. Please see regulations at: http://www.fakr.noaa.gov/frules/75fr554.pdf
   
Q. How long does my posting stay on file?
A. Once your posting is listed, it will remain on file until you ask for it to be removed.
